Trigun "Kill the CD Drama" tracks.
Apr. 25th, 2014 03:07 amMy usual policy of translation is to keep things in Japanese if there's not a solid English equivalent, and to culture/translation note rather than localize. When I translate, or roleplay Trigun I try to keep Japanese to a minimum because the writer, Nightow, says they are speaking English on Gunsmoke. I'll turn the -sans into Mr. and Ms. and the like with Trigun translations (something I don't do with even fairly European settings such as FMA), but the comedy especially is aggressively Japanese at times. From puns, Manzai, misquoted Japanese proverbs, and Japanese dialect gags to references to old sketch comedy shows, for an American Western style series, Trigun is as Japanese as furikake.
These are all from page 77 of the art book. Some grammar errors are from the text itself (such as gun being lowercase in the first skit title--all skit titles are in English).
( Sex with someone who may or may not know what sex IS and other such fun dark humor. )
