Shiki Break and Game!
Apr. 1st, 2014 02:03 am We've finally reached the end of the first book of Ono Fuyumi's Shiki! 545 pages! Over 1,000 pages in the 5-piece edition!
To celebrate, I'll be hosting a little game to be played by any readers who are interested this this weekend. That will be Sunday, April 6th 11:00PM EST. Sign-in/registration will be from whenever I make the post (anticipating around 10:00 PM) to 11:10PM! We'll need at least five players to play, so invite your friends. Much like the game The Mole that I've done some test plays of, you can join as any character you like, very informal, doubles of characters welcome! I'll be working the rules into something a little bit different based on Shiki specifically, but I'll put the specific rules down on the page put up for everyone to play on. You'll get the basic idea looking at the test links, any immediate questions, ask here. Game's expected to last about an hour.
I'll be taking the month of April off from translations to work on proof reading, editing, formatting and working towards the requested PDF compilation. I'll also update the character/town map. When finished, I'll make a complete list of which chapters have had any major edits (I have decided what to do with the epidemic translation dilemma, so there will be major adjustments in some chapters) so that readers to this point can go back and see changes, and so that those translating into other languages who may be past those points can cross-check.
I'll still be reachable for conversation, and in fact will probably welcome the distraction so I don't get into a rut while editing. I'll still be carrying on conversations in the comments about the series. If you want to comb through and grammar-Nazi me or go through with your Japanese copy and think I've skipped a line, or think something sounds too unnatural, go ahead and re-read together with me and start throwing editor's notes into the comment sections. At worst I'll just say nah, and stick with what I have.
