Personally, I'm fine without medical notes. I don't think they should be added because it's not a translation thing. Cultural notes help because a translator can explain it better, but for medical notes, readers can look them up themselves if they don't understand it just from the text. And in English books with medical terminology, the meanings aren't explained separately either (maybe they would have a glossary, but that's rare). I just don't think the effort would be worth it to explain something for which a translator isn't necessary to facilitate understanding.
Basically, for me at least, it's fine as is!
