I like that the books are more of the kind that can teach you about the world around you, rather than the typical vampire classics like Dracula or 19th century romances; it shows that she's not merely an archetype. Yeah I forgot about that part of Salem's Lot! I think there's a part there when the head vamp convinces a priest that his holy items hold no meaning...and then breaks the cross. I wonder why Ono didn't pursue this further? It could've made some cool plot twists!
