Yeah, I have that picture! It is pretty cool; the titles he puts on the books are an interesting insight into what the artist supposes someone of her tastes would read. (Encyclopedia Britannica on the bottom row, Kokoro, a book on wars in the Indies, a book on Napoleon, etc.) She doesn't look like she's suffering at all with that "Holy Bible" though, does she? It's not even just a bible, it's a holy one, yo! In the original Salem's Lot, holy items only work if the bearer believes in them, but that's clearly not the case in Shiki unless we have hidden Christians in Sotoba and Ozaki is unexpectedly spiritual.
In the pipeline, I think it was Hasegawa who had a cross on him that repelled Sasaki at the last minute. In the manga, Ozaki just holds one up and nonchalantly says there's no need to fear them even in the dark, because they can be repelled by things like that.
